Legs alone are too slow for real work.
Humanoid robots move at a person’s pace and pay for every stride in energy. Deliveries, warehouses and campuses run on speed and range, and legs alone deliver neither.
Our robot rolls on wheels at the ends of its legs and balances on them: the speed and efficiency of a wheeled machine, with the reach of a legged one. In physics simulation it already holds itself upright on two wheels and recovers from a hard push.
Where wheels stop, it climbs.
Curbs, stairs and broken ground end the route for wheeled robots. Ours lifts its legs, climbs and rolls on, and on rough ground its legs work as suspension.
One learned control policy climbs stairs, blocks and ramps, and every one of these skills is validated in physics simulation.
Founders
Scalar Robotics is led by two founders who have built both halves of a robot: the intelligence that drives it and the machine itself.
Founder, Machine Learning & Robot Policy Engine
Leads the learning behind the robot’s control policy. Fifteen years in machine learning, with a background in model training and fine-tuning for Amazon Alexa.
Co-founder, robot hardware
A mechanical engineer by degree, with hands-on experience building humanoid robots at Tesla and at Humanoid.

We’re working with investors, partners and early customers who need robots that work in the world as it is, not in a lab.
